 Limelight asks us to care about the worst human being in the world. (He has “performing fleas.”)  He’s scaring people away! That’s why he has no public!  I feel like I’m watching the 1950s version of a star having a public meltdown.  It’s like if Sharon Stone kept making movies.  I think we’re supposed to like him because he saved a girl from suicide.  I thought there was an Asian man in the movie for a moment and I was happy.  Chaplin is being very old-white-man “I have a lot of wisdom to impart to you…”  I hope this ends with her screaming at everyone, “I HOPE YOU KNOW YOU’RE WATCHING A FUCKING GENIUS!!!”  I wonder how much drugs Chaplin did.  I would have given it 5 stars if the woman had found him hanging from the ceiling after his old friend tells him his act sucks.  How long is this movie?? RATING: 3 metaphorical deaths staged by Chaplin himself
